LISA - a Kiwi from Down Under

About Us - Meet Lisa

Lisa (hotel co-owner) is originally from New Zealand. Lisa arrived in Cappadocia as a traveller in 2014. She liked it so much that she made it her home and stayed! Now, she oversees everything related to reception and ensures the bills are paid on time – basically trying to keep everyone and everything organised.

Lisa has extensive knowledge of the area so feel free to ask questions about your plans. She can often help with travel ideas in other parts of Turkey, too. Aside from English, she can also hold basic conversations in Bahasa Indonesia/Malay and Turkish. As a traveller herself, Lisa intuitively understands what travellers are looking for and will do her best to ensure your expectations are met.

Deniz - The Big Boss

About Us - Deniz

Deniz (the other hotel co-owner) is a man of many talents: head chef and operations manager are two of the most important jobs at the hotel (he keeps our guests fed and the place working smoothly). Deniz has lived and worked in Goreme for almost 30 years in both the hotel and restaurant business.

Deniz loves to chat with guests and to cause a bit of joking mayhem when he can get away with it! Ask him about his life growing up in Cappadocia – he has interesting stories to share.

Aside from his native Turkish, Deniz speaks English, and can converse in German, Russian and French.

FURKAN: Receptionist Extraordinaire

Adelya Cave Hotel - day receptionist

Furkan, our reception manager, has worked with us since 2021. He’s a keen traveller/couch-surfer who has travelled through several European countries and lived for a year in Croatia as an Erasmus student. He’s always keen to talk and socialise with fellow travellers. He is a keen footballer and speaks Turkish, English and some Croatian.

Furkan is also more than happy to help you plan your stay in Cappadocia and can arrange balloon flights, tours, airport transfers, and other activities for you. Just let him know your ideas or plans once you complete your reservation.

HARLEY: Head of Security and Entertainment

Harley joined our team as a 6-week-old kitten in May 2020. He quickly settled in and accepted his new responsibilities as Security Manager and Entertainment Officer.

Harley has grown into a big ball of fluff – cute and adorable, and he knows it! If you stay at Adelya, he will do his best to charm you with his cuteness – especially if you don’t actually like cats!

When he is not sleeping on the couch, he is standing guard at the front gate, ready to welcome new guests – and to keep out unwanted intruders. If you need one more good reason to stay at Adelya Cave Hotel, Harley is it. He is a crowd favourite!
